Disappearing torrent sites is not an unusual event in the torrent community. Many torrent sites are made and many disappear in a similar event a torrent site named “Seven torrents” announced its End of functioning.
Now in the torrent community sites like pirate bay which has celebrated 15 years of its existence and has served millions of users such longevity is highly praised by their users. Similarly, Seven torrents is not a website huge as Pirate bay but it has also been working for the last 10 years.
Seven torrents have faced several anti-piracy lawsuits and yet had withstood all such strokes. One of such being faced by the site in 2014 in which main domain of Seven torrents was being added to the UK ISP blocking system in a court follow up of the complaint made by motion pictures association in 2015.
The seven torrents website had withstood many such pressures in the anti-piracy environment and lasted for 10 years but finally, Seven torrents bids adieu to the torrent community with the announcement that says “Today we have decided to retire. But this is not the end for you and we will not let you down, there is a piece of good news for you. We have talked with the owners of our professional friend site WatchSoMuch which is doing the same thing as we were doing but in a better way, it has a super-fast search and modern and mobile-friendly design”.
Now this news has been perceived in mix sense by the users of the Seven torrents, many users have reported such a move as a violation of their privacy. However, Seven torrents kept the stand that the users have no complaints and there is no issue over such a handover of the database.
Watchsomuch is a torrent website that is pretty new in the community and the handover of such a database is looked upon as giving a boost to WSM in the torrent community backed by the Seven torrents group.
The move of transferring data to a new site is somewhere a good idea as the community can still survive and enjoy the content. Seven torrents in further announcements stated that the users have nothing to worry about it will be like a new upgrade for them with just a better experience.
For the users having privacy concerns, it was maintained that WSM will be asked to provide an option for deleting accounts. This is for the privacy-sensitive users who wish to delete their data. However, here is a noteworthy point many other torrent websites share such user data even without any prior notice or informing their users.
What is the reality on the back-end can never be known by the users, Why the move of transferring database to a new player in the market is still not known but as they say don’t think too much as long as it something good for you. So better sit and enjoy the new upgrade and saying goodbye to the old times, Torrenting world is a bumpy ride get used to it.
